DURING Your PROCEDURE

Endoscopy

Once you are in the endoscopy unit, you will change into a hospital gown and be admitted by the nursing staff.

The nurse or anaesthetist will put a small needle into your arm and you will be given sedation or a light anaesthetic.

The EUS probe is passed through the mouth to perform the examination.  The examination takes 30 to 40 minutes to complete.  You will be at the hospital for most of the afternoon.
